Persian Rose Oil Otto – Rosa damascena Miller
Did you know Rose distillation for the production of rose oil and rose water originated in Persia. By the 17th century, rose cultivation had spread to India and Turkey.
Rose oil usage dates back to ancient civilization of Persia. Avicenna, the 10th century Persian physician, distilled its petals for medical purposes and commercial distillery existed in 1612 in Shiraz, Persia.
The major products of petals steam distillation are rose water and rose oil subsequently. It takes 2000 petals to yield one drop of rose oil. There are a lot of therapeutic and healing properties for rose water and rose oil.
This oil is from the same species that originated in Persia but now cultivated and distilled in Turkey.
In my view is the best rose oil, it has more rose complexities that any other rose oil such as Indian or Bulgarian.
The opening of this beautiful rose is heavenly sweet roses, lemony, honey, honey honey rose, i love it and this rosy qualities are present even in the dry down and i can smell very slight nuances of sweet hay and tobacco but very very subtle.
Great material for perfumers and blends well with most floral compositions.
As soon as you open the bottle you will smell the sweetness of the honeyed rose petals that are warm, heady, with immense depth and character.
You can wear this as a perfume on its own and on clothes it will last more than 24 hours. No exaggeration, I wear it frequently.
