Agarwood is generally classified according to the content of oil in the wood, color and shape
Indian Agarwood is long lasting after it’s burned. It has the notes of incense, sweet creamy and woody. Much sweeter than agarwood from other countries, they are classified by their shape and the part of the tree it’s extracted from. The main types are:

Muri – Very peculiar looking – Small size around 2 to 3 cms
King Muri – Small to medium around 3 to 5 cms
Zura – Looks like a stick and has pointed ends 4 cms to 10 cms
King Zura – Looks like a stick and has pointed ends and the size is around 10 cms to 25 cms
Oud Seeufi – The shapes are normally flat with spikey ends. Thickness is around 1 cms and length about 10 to 30 cms

Now quality grades are below from best to low

1) Underwater is best and rare
2) Royal is also best and rare and not sinking and the oil content is very high
3) Triple Super is still very good and not easily available
Very good aroma
4) Double super is ok sweet but turns woody quickly once its burned
5) Super is the lowest grade
